We welcome our new partner RIH, with whom we will expand our portfolio of railway innovation, especially through IoT technology.
Worldsensing is a global IoT pioneer. Founded in 2008, the company is leading in the monitoring of critical and civil infrastructure through IoT technology. With over 3,000 network deployments connecting over 200,000 sensors, Worldsensing’s solution is used across emblementic construction and maintenance projects around the world to boost the digital transformation of the railway industry. The company’s leading IoT remote monitoring solution enables real-time data acquisition of geotechnical, geospatial and structural sensors, as well as remote device, data and network management. Worldsensing serves customers in more than 70 countries, with a network of global partners to jointly drive safety in mining, construction, rail and structural health.

Through Worldsensing’s low-power wireless edge devices installed in close proximity to railway infrastructure or directly in the sleepers, subsurface geotechnical parameters and surface railtrack geometry information such as cant and twist can be collected continuously. While the devices can gather data for up to 10 years, all monitoring data is transmitted to a gateway through a private long-range IoT radio network, which can send data up to 15 km through a single hop. All data is either sent to the cloud for 24/7 connectivity management or to an onsite server. The solution can be integrated with 3rd party software such as data visualization tools.

Worldsensing technology has been certified to be directly deployed at rail tracks by leading infrastructure operators in Europe, among them Network Rail and the Underground of London in the UK as first adopters. Over the last year alone, SNCF Réseau in France, Deutsche Bahn in Germany and  FGC in Spain have also validated and adopted this technology.
